Hi All,
I've been here just a little over a month now. Nothing much happening, but it's interesting at times nevertheless. I'm getting into the Linux scene more, and I'm also gaming more. Btw, in my post about Ravenna, I mentioned a beer joint/pool hall. This is a dry county, so it was actually a pool hall. Too bad they closed it down, but chances are, I'd not have gone there anyway. But I coulda sat on the porch and watch the 'traffic' going in and out of the pool hall. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon or evening.
Peace,

almost a year...
Hi All,
It's hard to believe it but almost a year has gone by since I both met and lost Deuce (Charlie). I met him in April, he was killed in May. I've had some things bothering me lately, and it took me awhile to figure it out. It's two anniversaries coming up, 16th of April and 4th of May.
As cruel or mean as it might seem, I'm both saddened and glad at the loss. It might have been really great when it began, but there's no doubt in my mind that it would've been fubared in no time. So where does this leave me? Exactly where I'm supposed to be. I moved on, and yet I've had to take a step back in order to get thru this. I'm also pissed off about it. Charlie was in the habit of text messaging people while on his motorcycle, so it's no wonder he didn't see that damn truck. I spent a long time being mad at the wrong person, the truck driver. It might have not been his fault at all. Now I'm just mad at Charlie. But it was perhaps a blessing in disguise.
Anyway, that's it for now,
Peace,

life in Ravenna
Hi All,
A friend of my mom says to me one day shortly after I arrived in town, "How do I like it here." "Fine," I say and that I like it better than when I lived in Clay City. He says, "There's nothing to do here," and then tells me, "There use to be a beer joint/pool hall across the street from my mom, 'till they closed it down. There use to be a theatre until they caught people selling drugs and tore it down and put in a parking lot. And there use to be a skating rink, but it's closed down as well. There's no fun at all."
I've been thinking about that conversation, Seems to me as if part of it is like throwing the baby out with the bath water. At any rate, I very seldom go to a beer joint or pool hall, I don't skate, and I've been to maybe 3 movies since "On Deadly Ground" came out in the theaters. I just don't go to movies that often. I have other things I'd rather do. Like take a walk in the mountains or by a lake. Read a book, do research on the web, paint or draw a picture. Play some music or at least listen to music.
Anyway, I find Ravenna a very nice place so far. I like it because it is a small town. I can walk to damn near any place I want to go. If not, I'm sure alternate transportation can be arranged. At any rate, I'm living well and liking it here.
Peace,

today's thoughts
Hi All,
How are you all doing? I'm doing pretty well. As I mentioned yesterday, I've gotten back online. I just finished updating my website. Finally made my way thru almost 2000 email messages..that's for one month, one account. Wow...
Anyway, let's see. What else? My mom, brother and I are buying a new washer and dryer. The old ones finally stopped working, but then my mom's had them since 1998 or so.
I'm back on the dating scene, using plentyoffish and datehookup, both are free and I've had pretty good luck with them. At any rate, they're fun. You meet a lot of interesting people on either site.
Geesh, sounds like an ad for them, doesn't it?
It isn't, I'm just chatting with you all.
peace,
