Hi All,

I read this many years ago, the 90's maybe? At that time it was contributed to 'Anonymous'.

I've often thought about that poem. It seems as if we're losing our rights little by little, day by day. It's supposed to be, 'by the people, of the people and for the people.' Now it's more or less a bunch of people who don't seem to care what is in the best interests of the people. Just because someone in politics thinks it's best for me, doesn't mean it is.

and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.
